Express FP 5 is a modified live
virus vaccine to be given to healthy cows and heifers prior to breeding as an
aid in the prevention of abortion due to infectious bovine rhinotracheitis
(IBR), or to healthy calves/cattle to aid in preventing respiratory disease
caused by IBR virus, BVD virus Types 1 and 2, and bovine respiratory syncytial
virus (BRSV). It is used as an aid in the reduction of respiratory disease
caused by Parainfluenza3 (PI3).
Do not
use in pregnant cows or calves nursing pregnant cows unless the cows or dams
were vaccinated, according to label directions, with any Express® FP vaccine in
the last 12 months. Do not use within 21 days before slaughter
Shake the accompanying bottle of
adjuvant diluent and use to rehydrate the modified live virus vaccine. Shake
well and use immediately.
Use
an aseptic technique to administer 2 ml subcutaneously or intramuscularly. For
primary vaccination repeat vaccination with any Express vaccine containing BRSV
14 to 28 days later. Revaccinate annually.
Cows and Heifers: Administer a single 2-ml dose intramuscularly or subcutaneously at or about 4 weeks prior to breeding. Pregnant cows and nursing calves may be vaccinated provided they were vaccinated, according to label directions, with any Express FP vaccine within the last 12 months.
