Pinkeye Moraxella Bovoculi is the
first and only commercially available vaccine for prevention of pinkeye in
cattle caused by Moraxella bovoculi. It contains 8 different M. bovoculi
isolates. Because it is a preventative for only M. bovoculi pinkeye, it should
be given in addition to traditionally available pinkeye vaccines which offer
protection against Moraxella bovis. Administer 2 ml SQ to cattle 14 weeks of
age or older; repeat in 21 days. Moraxella bovoculi Bacterin Pinkeye Vaccine is
conditionally licensed and requires authorization from your veterinarian.
M. bovoculi is often referred to as "Winter Pinkeye" due to its
ability to cause pinkeye year-round. Previously, the only way to biologically
prevent M. bovoculi outbreaks was through a diagnostic and autogenous program,
which required taking cultures so a qualified lab could create a custom herd
vaccine. Conditionally licensed; not available in all states.
