Rhini Shield TX4 from Elanco Animal Health Product helps protect pigs against atrophic rhinitis caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica or the toxin of Pasteurella multocida Types A and D, erysipelas, and pneumonia caused by P. multocida Type A. Rhini Shield TX4 can be given to piglets at 7-10 days of age, or to gilts and sows prior to farrowing.
When to give it
- 5 and 2 weeks prior to farrowing (sows and gilts) and
- 7-10 days of age
How much to give
Four doses must be given: two gilt or sow doses, 2 piglet doses. Gilts and sows: 5 mL dose at 5 and 2 weeks prior to farrowing· Piglets of vaccinated dams: 1 mL dose, followed 2 weeks later by a 2 mL dose.
