The Palm Abbe Digital Refractometer is fast convenient and
easy to use to check the quality of colostrum. Simply place a drop or two
of colostrum in the titanium well and press the GO button. The
custom-designed microprocessor delivers a nearly instantaneous readout in
degrees Brix (0 to 56). A reading of 22 or above means that the colostrum
quality is good. The user interface consists of two buttons one to take
readings and the other to step through various menu options. The large
LCD display is easily read even in dim light. Calibration is automatic
and does not require the use of special calibration solutions or tools.
