The 28" length swab design uses two levels of protection, so that upon insertion in the vagina, the outermost capped tube protects the inner tube and swab from contaminants. The inner tube is then pushed through the perforated tip, and lastly, the cotton swab is extended to swab a sample. The swab is then retracted, the inner tube retracted, and the entire assembly removed from the animal. The inner tube and swab have a 6" breakaway section that allows placement in transport media while the swab stays protected. End caps are also included with the swab for this breakaway section. A proven design that maintains the integrity of your sample. Available with or without Ames transport media. The culture swab is also available in kit forms with a 1 ounce tube of priority care sterilized lubricant and sterilized shoulder glove, or in a combo kit with the speculum and a 1 ounce lube. The Double-Guarded Cytology Brush is based on the culture swab design, but instead of a swab head, this has a small cytology brush, so it will recover cell samples rather than just fluids.
