Vira Shield 6 + Somnus from Elanco Animal health is for use in healthy cattle, 3 months of age or older as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), bovine virus diarrhea (BVD Type 1 and BVD Type 2), parainfluenza Type 3 (PI3), and bovine respiratory syncytial (BRSV) viruses and Haemophilus somnus. Killed virus.
Administer 5 cc IM to healthy cattle 3 mos. of age or older. Repeat in 4-5 wks. Calves vaccinated before weaning should be revaccinated after weaning. Safe for pregnant animals at any stage of gestation. Vaccinate dairy cattle at dry-off period. Revaccinate annually. 60 day withdrawal.
Cautions:
Use entire contents when first opened. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. In case of human exposure, contact a physician. Do not vaccinate within 60 days prior to slaughter. Transient swelling may occur at the site of injection. Anaphylactic reactions may occur. Symptomatic treatment: Epinephrine. Contains amphotericin B, gentamicin, and thimerosal as preservatives.
